Dear Seed Church,
2020 has been a year that we could not have imagined or experienced. Covid-19 brought with it a famine spiritually and financially. When faced with a famine/pandemic our natural tendency is to withhold our finances due to fear of lack or what we might face in the future. In reality, holding back is exactly what the enemy wants us to do.
“Generosity brings prosperity, but withholding from charity brings poverty. Those who live to bless others will have blessings heaped upon them, and the one who pours out his life to pour out blessings will be saturated with favor.”
- Proverbs 11:24-25 TPT
Again, a famine/pandemic is not the time to withhold our giving, it is the best time to give. In Genesis 26, we find that in the midst of a pandemic, God told Isaac not to run out of fear, rather, to stay where He told him to stay. He assured Isaac that He would be with him and take care of him even in the midst of the pandemic/famine in that land. Therefore, Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundred fold. He didn’t reap double, or triple, but a hundred fold. He harvested a hundred times more grain than he planted. Did you catch that? He harvested a hundred times more than he planted. God blessed Isaac more than he could even imagine.
Isaac didn’t withhold in famine. He sowed in famine. He was a giver!
Yes, 2020 has been a pandemic year like we have never experienced in our lifetime. But that doesn’t change who our God is nor what He will do! Let’s make sure our giving reflects that we also trust what God can do regardless of what is going on in the world.
Sowing in famine seems unnatural, but it is a key point in receiving breakthrough in every area of our lives.
When you are living in obedience to God, it is His pleasure to command His blessing upon you. All God wants is an opportunity to command His blessings upon you. So have a willing heart and be ready to come out of your famine.
Pastor Lisa and I are believing for supernatural increase in every area of your life!
